Project goals
LFO’s first project was established
to:
- Increase well being of the orphans.
- Slowly, change the perception of the
Society towards orphans.
- Design a suitable environment for the
orphans to enjoy during their school off
times.
Project Phases
Phase One
Light for orphans was launched in 2005
with near completion of phase one that included
the purchase of 13 acre land in the out
skirts of Cairo and the development of the
blue prints and the initiation of the project.
Currently the headquarters of light for
orphans include administrative office, housing
for orphans with a capacity to accommodate
100 children with plans for expansion to
200 by the end the year 2008.
Phase one also included the blueprints
of the ancillary support facilities in the
form of classrooms, meeting rooms, counseling
facilities, kitchen, dinning areas and central
laundry. The success of phase one was so
overwhelming and resulted in donation of
an additional 7.5 acres by a philanthropic
businessman who was so touched by the success
of the project and the impact it had on
the children’s lives. View

Phase Two
Completion of housing facilities for orphans
to accommodate 300 children with plans to
expand to 500 by the end of the year 2010.
Establishment of the ancillary support
facilities to accommodate the expanding
number of children.
These Facilities include:
- Classrooms
- Counseling rooms
- Recreational facilities for art classes,
games audiovisual equipments.
- Sports facilities including basketball
courts, soccer fields and volley ball.
